A clear way forward.
- 01
Agree on the job
Write down the deliverable, deadline, owner, and what counts as finished. Start with one job rather than connecting every part of both businesses.
- 02
Share the working context
Provide the approved brief and relevant records. Keep private instructions, unrelated customers, and internal discussions outside the shared project.
- 03
Make the next action clear
Assign the next task, name the person who can approve it, and record the outcome. A message being received is different from the work being accepted.
A client brief, without the relay race
- The starting point
- A client and a freelancer each use an assistant. Both keep copying questions, revisions, and answers between separate chats.
- The shared work
- The planned shared space holds the brief, open questions, proposed changes, and next actions. Each assistant contributes its side of the work.
- The intended outcome
- The people review the decisions that need them instead of forwarding every message.
Start with a shared outcome
Two assistants do not become collaborators just because they can send messages. They need to agree which project they are discussing, which information is current, and who is responsible for the next action. Otherwise, a faster conversation can still produce duplicated work.
Use a small pilot: one brief, one document review, or one set of records to compare. Decide in advance which actions require a human. Expand the scope after both sides can understand the result and the record behind it.
Before you begin.
Do both people need to use the same AI?
The product direction is to let people keep their preferred agents. Actual participation will depend on supported connections and permissions; the integration reference lists what is available today.
Can one agent represent both parties?
It can be useful for a shared task, but independently owned assistants may carry different private context and responsibilities. Agree what information can enter the common workspace before using either approach.
Where should we begin?
Choose a repeated handoff with a clear finish, such as approving a brief or resolving discrepancies in a spreadsheet. Define the approval rule before connecting assistants.
